Why is the openai package not in this table?
Because it is the client of a protocol, not of a vendor. Groq, Together, DeepInfra, OpenRouter and most others document their own APIs through it, so its download count measures how far the OpenAI-compatible interface has spread, not how much OpenAI is used. Counting it as one provider’s popularity would be the single easiest way to publish a wrong number here, so it is reported separately and never ranked.
